The Queens Hall 50th Anniversary

It may be greying around the temples, but the Queens Hall, Narberth is 50 next birthday and there's going to be a party! It seems incredible that Pembrokeshire's number one live music venue has reached middle age but here it is, still jumpin' and jivin' like a teenager.

Yes, the Queens hall is fifty on the 1st February 2008. Although the building and charity were already in existence by February 1958, the Official Opening was on 1st February that year and we think that is an event we really need to mark. To celebrate its 50th, the Queens Hall is having a BIG party with a themed 1950's night of music, dance and fun for everyone. With host and DJ, BB Skone, will be "The Railmen" and "The Numbers Racket". So make sure you are part of our celebrations and come along to 'The Queens Hall at 50' birthday party.

Over the past fifty years, The Queens Hall has quite rightly gained a huge reputation for quality music that has seen the likes of Elton John, Midge Ure, Sandi Thom, David Grey and just this year has seen pop princess Sophie Ellis Bextor strut her stuff on the stage that was created by our visionary founders 5 decades ago. And that is a tradition that the Queens Hall will continue into its next 50 years by continuing its focus on live music that appeals to music lovers across West Wales and beyond.

But that is not to say the Queens Hall isn't still relevant to ALL the community groups it serves so well. After all, it was founded to be a community hall and the community is still at the heart of what it does.

It's sure to be a spectacular night of celebrations. Watch out for more details as they become available or call the box office on 01834 861212 for updates.

With major refurbishments planned for 2008 and a lively and varied programme of events, the Queens Hall will continue to be 'the place to be' in Narberth for many more years to come.
